Missouri State Bail Bond and Surety Recovery Training
To be a bail bond agent, or a Surety Recovery Agent in the State of Missouri you must be licensed by the Missouri Department of Insurance & Finical Institutions and Professional Registration.
There are several steps in getting the license and we will help you with these steps:
- Take a 24 Hour Basic Training Course (this course)
- Take an exam (this course gets you ready for this)
- Have you fingerprints taken (we will assist you with this onsite)
- Apply for the State License (we will show you how)
We will break the 24 Hour class into two days over the weekend for you
Day 1 of Basic Training:
You will learn Missouri Law; this will help you legally as well as ethically write bail bonds in this state. You will be give examples of ways to succeed and shown how quickly things can go wrong when you don't follow the rules. This day is setup for your business to grow.
You will learn:
- Learn Missouri Law
- What you can and cannot do as an agent
- What is considered unfair and unethical
- How to write a bond
- How the court system works
- Proper procedure at the Jail
- Terms and Language used
- Tell the difference between a bad bond, and a good bond
- Fill out State Forms
- Jail Phone Systems
- Case Law
- Take a practice test
Items Needed for day 1
Nothing needed, book, hi-liter, pen is included in the cost.
Day 2 Intro to Surety Recovery & Tactics
For the last three years this has always been the students favorite day, this day is designed to teach you how to survive on the streets, and how not to be commit crimes yourself when working as a recovery agent. This class is most important to your survival.
You will learn:
- When to back out and call Law Enforcement
- Proper Use of Force
- How to avoid arresting the wrong person
- How to research and find a criminal that is on the run
- Learn the motives behind a fugitive
- Questions to ask when talking to people
- Learn what equipment is used in the industry
- Case studies of pickups gone bad
- How to plan for a pickup
- Team efforts
- How to work as a team
- Proper Searches
- Take Downs
- Hand Cuffing
- Transport Belts, Chains and leg irons
- How to confront a fugitive
- How to arrest a fugitive
- How to make an arrest out of state
- How to deal with transporting prisioners back to Missouri
At the end of the day you will get to do live scenarios on our electronic reality machine, this machine will force you to make instant decisions on to shoot or not to shoot. This machine also tracks where your shot placement is, and allows you to see how you will do in a high stress situation. This is done privately away from the other students.
Items Needed for day 2
if you have purchased handcuff, a belt or holder for the handcuffs please bring it, if not we can provide them for your use in class.
At the completion of class you will be given a certificate of completion; however you must attend the full class.
After you pass your test, if you are having trouble with job placement we keep a list of agents for our students looking for a company to work for.
Instructor Brenner;
Mr. Brenner is currently a Deputy Sheriff with over 19 years as a law enforcement officer.
Brenner has worked as an agent for the Drug Task Force, has served as K-9 12 years, Swat for 10.
Brenner wants to see professionalism and respect maintained in the private markets.
Brenner ran a successful bail bond & recovery business for 5 years in Missouri / Kansas and recovered over 300 fugitives in 20 different states.
In 2013 Brenner left the Bail Bond side to return as a Commissioned Deputy so he could handle an explosive K-9. Today he continues to teach new students on how to be successful agents.
